Living in today’s world can be very challenging.
It is changing quickly with advances in technology, threats to our sense of safety, and the uncertainty of our economy.
We may find that our skills for living joyfully and harmoniously have become dull, like a valuable tool that has seen better days.
As Stephen Covey might say, “it’s time to sharpen the saw.”

Why Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction?
The benefits of mindfulness practice have been well researched over the past 20 years, and include significant skills to reduce stress, improving immune functioning, making long lasting changes to one’s health and how the brain responds to stressful situations.
A “go to” book to read on the subject includes Full Catastrophe Living, by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. Newer recommended books that are very consumer friendly include, A Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Workbook by Bob Stahl and Elisha Goldstein, or The Mindful Path Through Shyness, by Steve Flowers and Jeffrey Blantley. I happened to attend a mindfulness training led by Bob Stahl and Steve Flowers in 2007 and can attest to their expertise. They are two gentle, caring souls.
